digital download

i purchase the The Way of Shadows on a friends recommendation. i and my family were just starting our summer vacation and thought a new book would be great. work and family keep me very busy and reading is a rare luxury. i found it challenging to put the book down. once getting home from i purchase the two others in the trilogy.

then back to the reality of finding the time. i'm also a member of Audible and in September i purchased the first 2 books as a digital download. God the numbers of items you pick up the second and third time you go through the book is amazing.

my question is when will you release third book of the Night Angle trilogy, Beyond the Shadows? i posed this question to Audible and they told me,"It is the author's decision if they wish to release the audiobook in a digital audio download.".

As best I can tell, the reason book 3 isn't out is because Tantor hasn't finished MAKING the audio book. Amazon says it'll be available in December. Why the delay? I have no idea. Seriously, I didn't even know they had sold the audio rights until about two months before the first book came out. (Orbit bought a bunch of the rights to begin with, and how they sell them is up to them, and someone just forgot to tell me.)

So, I am absolutely NOT delaying the books. I wouldn't do that. It WILL be available in a digital audio download, I just don't know when. And I'm very sorry that Tantor hasn't followed the schedule they originally said they were going to follow (ie one book/ month like the paperbacks did). I don't know why they're so late, but I'm sure it isn't on purpose. They know they're leaving money on the table by not getting that sucker out there. If I do find out--I keep meaning to harass someone about this, but am sooo busy with trying to finish Black Prism on time I keep forgetting--I will post something on this forum, and try to remember to send you a note personally, too.
