For fans of The Night Angel Trilogy and fantasy author Brent Weeks

Hey, are you an artist out there that wants to draw some Night Angel Trilogy? Maybe you're a reader who wants a better sense of how the characters look? Personally, I'm a bit of both. However, I haven't finished reading the last two books as of yet, so I don't know really the full physical descriptions of each character.

So, I came up with a great idea, after wanting to draw Hu Gibbet without really knowing much of what he looks like. How about a thread that is spoiler free that lists general notes and descriptions people can make of different characters? This would be easier on artists/readers like me that would rather not be spoiled just looking for descriptions or would rather not reread the book to find out what the heck Durzo looks like.

How about it guys? Just make general notes about what physical looks of a character have been described, or what you can assume a character looks like because of something (try and not have any spoilers though. If you need to reference an event that seems like a big spoiler, just try to refer to a certain section of the book (a.k.a. chapter, say it's near the end of the middle or the beginning of a certain book, etc.)).

For example, here's some notes I can make about certain characters:
Durzo:
-scraggly beard
-blonde (because it says his beard is blonde)
-lanky man (so, it's assumed he's skinny and tall? Hmm.)
-Seems to appeal a lot to blacks and grays (according to Kylar.)
Kylar:
-blue eyes (it mentions somewhere about his eyes being very very bright/icy blue.)
-black hair (I think it mentions his hair being outright black - if not, I think that when he bleaches his hair it mentions it being very white.)
-Must appeal a lot to blacks and grays too (being Durzo's apprentice.)
Dorian:
-black hair
-beard
-Seems shorter and weaker than Feir, possibly more frail.
Logan:
-Way taller than Kylar, it's assumed, because he calls him an Ogre. Either that, or he's built bigger than Kylar. Like, more muscular or broader shoulders. OR both.
-Good looking, apparently.
Feir:
-A mountain? Does that make him tall? Taller than Dorian, it's assumed.
-Stronger than Dorian, so possibly better built. Isn't he some sort of Smith, too?
Vi:
- Big chest. Big hips. Very attractive.
- Red head? So I've heard.
Roth:
-Black hair
-messed up ear (which one again? And was it just..deformed or just not there? I don't remember.)
Elene Cromwyll:
-Blonde hair (Pulled into a bun at one point? I don't remember.)
-Scars (I don't remember exactly how they looked - maybe someone could find the actual description again?)
Uly:
-Curly black hair. It said black curls, I think.

That's all I can remember for now. Anything else anyone wants to add on purely physical looks and traits of these characters would be nice. Smells and personalities don't count. (Otherwise I'd mention Durzo's smell of garlic and Logan's overuse of big words.) Come and help an artist out?

I'm especially looking for any more physical descriptions people could lend on Hu Gibbet, Dorian, Feir, Logan, and Solon. Maybe even help with descriptions of Uly, Elene's scars, and Momma K? That'd be nice. Thanks guys for the help out here for us artists and readers out there! Hope this can help you too.

Maybe if we get a nice description going of each character I can make a "master list" of sorts for the characters' physical traits, for everyone.

Roth's right ear was cut off by Azoth, and his left ear is 'melted' off, and Kylar described he doesn't look like he has any ears.

Elene has blonde hair usually pulled back in a bun, and she has big brown eyes. Her white scars are Xs on her cheek, lips, and a loop from her mouth to one of her eyes.

Vi has very long, wavy red hair and she almost always ties it back in some way. She has green eyes and is also one of the most attractive women around, although an unscarred Elene is supposed to be more stunning.

Not sure about Uly and Momma K, might have to search through the books to find specific descriptions, Uly doesn't get described properly until somewhere in the second book I think.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that, for Roth. He looks like has has no ears when he pushes back his long black hair. Oh yeah, he has long black hair too.

I can't believe I forgot the big brown eyes because I had that once in a picture. But yeah, thanks for the description of the scars. The loop one kind of looks like a crescent moon, I think.

An unscarred Elene could be considered more stunning because she might seem more innocent than Vi. (Face it, Vi, no matter what, because of her looks and emphasis on her more feminine areas, comes off as being..not so innocent.) It might also be because of certain tastes. Elene seems beautiful. Vi might just be sexy.

As for Uly, in the first book, near the end when Kylar actually meets her (or when Durzo meets her. I don't remember) it states that she has black curls. So, you can assume her mother (who I won't say, but you guys know who. I don't want to spoil just in case. :P *Being nice*) has black hair too, since Durzo has blonde hair and black hair would be considered dominant and override the blonde. Other descriptions of her would be nice though.

I think Uly is around... what? 10 or 11 though, right? From what I assume. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I know Momma K is..well, with lack of better terms, rather old. But she wears lots of make up to hide it, normally. But I'm sure she's like a middle aged woman or around her 40s or something. I assume she has a lot of wrinkles and other stuff like that without the make up on. She prissies herself up I'm sure, because of her profession.

Logan is a giant and Kylar is "just pushing average".

There's only 1 time I remember Hu being described is the beginning of Shadow's Edge where Vi goes to meet the Godking. He's described as having delicate features and is beautiful but can't really be called handsome. He has blonde hair that reaches his shoulders and a "serpent's smile"

Godking: Very muscular and strong, oiled black beard, bald head, he's 50 but looks younger. He's Khalidorian so blue eyes I'm guessing.

Solon is very handsome and originally has black hair until it starts growing out white. Momma K always looks 10 years younger than her real age and is stunning for her age.

As already stated, Vi is extremely beautiful and almost every character mentions this. Sister Ariel looks quite old with greying hair, a lined face and is somewhat overweight. Uly is pretty and tall for her age. Durzo describes her as getting her mother's looks and his height.

So, Kylar barely makes the cut? And Logan is way bigger. :P

A serpent's smile, shoulder-length blonde hair, delicate features, and beautiful but not handsome. ..The last part is probably going to be hard to draw out if anyone did. I'm guessing he doesn't look like a prince charming but he looks beautiful and like the kind of guy who'd reel you in and trick you. Sounds like how Hu would look. I'm shocked about the blonde hair though. (Guess he has more in common with Durzo than you'd think.)

Oh! The Godking, I almost forgot about him. He also often wears a cloak of white ermine fur too. All Khalidorians have blue eyes, I think. One of my friends mentioned that Khalidorians seem a lot like the Vikings of our world, so maybe their other features could be easily linked with that.

I assumed Solon had black hair because he's a Sethi. Seth is an island, correct? Maybe he could be assumed to be like a Pacific Islander of our time and maybe be darker skinned. Or, maybe not even dark skin. (Since he's surprised when Durzo knows that he's a Sethi.) could you also assume that maybe Solon's form isn't big, but built enough to handle a sword? (Since he is depicted as using a sword pretty well throughout the series.)

Momma K, I figured as much. That's mostly 'cause of the make up though,r giht?

Thanks for confirming the info on Vi too, and the added info of Uly. I completely forgot that part that Durzo described. I don't remember if I've seen Sister Ariel yet, but thanks for that too.
