I'm sure there are others who have dreamed of their own plots and story devices. I've always tried to keep my 'amazing' ideas to myself, so I can't ask anyone to share their best, but if you feel like giving a short glimplse into one of your own creations, please share.
1. Reapers (working title):The story revolves around Nathan Stone, a young man turned God of Death. It wasn't as he imagined it. Actually, it was far from imagining it. I mean, who expected the grim reapers to be...a company? Reap and Sons Ltd. breeds the best in Reapers. Nathan is their newest recruit. Killed in a tragic accident in life, his memories are removed and he is placed to work in killing off those whose time has come to an end. But there's something going on within the company. Something mysterious. And the random series of hallucinations plagueing Nathan are...memories?! And who are these Hunters?
2. Untitled Project (Name to come at a later date):The story revolves around Kael'Dor, a young Warrior Mage initiate. He lives on a planet which is physically connected to another planet via a 50 mile wide Arcane Stream, which connects the two cores. It spans a few thousand miles, and data is sent to and fro via it, keeping the planets perfectly in contact. But when a megalomaniac by the name of Rydian arrises, things begin to get grim. Can Kael'Dor stop Rydian from gaining the God's Clasp, an ancient and powerful artifact? Or will everything burn?
3. Reapers (Working Title):Basically a TV version of the afore mentioned story.
4. Doors (Another Working Title):When Eric's bus drives off the edge of a cliff on it's way to their ski holiday, he believes he and his classmates are doomed. But when he wakes up in a dimly lit room, things begin to get weird. After breaking his way through the boards boarding up the door, he charges out, to find himself on the snowy mountain. Behind him stands the door. Just the door. Psychological Horror which jumps between the events of four characters: Eric, Hiro, Becca and Sandra.
If you want to read an excerpt from any of these, please throw me a whisper. I'll be happy to toss you a small chunk of what I have. (Please not that 1 and 3 would be the same excerpt. The Script will be kept hidden from all [Except the BBC])
I used to draw all the time but was never really good so its kind of died off, but i have been righting for 5 years now. I've finished three books, in the middle of another, and i have at least half a dozen in in various stages of planning. I also have written plans for several graphic novels but can't really continue with them with no drawing talent. I usually get a new idea for a book, graphic novel, etc every few days, mostly from dreams, but most get trashed or merged together.
My first book I called Changing of a Dynasty was part of a series that i killed after hitting too many walls and being too inexperienced when I started it. It was about a young prince who turns on his grandfather who is king of the largest empire in the stories world after he kills the main characters father for leading a rebellion group against his tyrannical rule and his mother for belonging to an enemy nation. The main character then goes on a quest to his mother's nation ot lead the war effort against his grandfather and twin brother who stays with their grandfather.
My next two which are tentatively titled are part of at least a four book series and I'm currently in the middle of the third. I've been working on this series for over three years and find myself thinking constantly about it.
I personally ben working on a Neverwinter Nights module based on Mid. But, after about two hours of toneing NPC's, (The ones named in the books.) I realized that they are ungodly powerful for a D&D 3.5 game. Even Durzo with out the Ka was absolutly insane. And Kylar! X.x Just the stone alone was enough to drive one mad. So I stoped working on it hence. If anyone else got a better idea. Message me.
I myself have a closet full of ideas. I have not officially started any as a project though because of flaws I still have to clean from them. But one idea I gotten from work and I am starting to play with it. I really like where it is going... [shrugs] Not sure if I will finish it though; I rather draw short comics then write a full book. [chuckles]
I write poetry, short stories, fiction, fantasy, Science Fiction...
I play piano and guitar, although guitar is my forte right now
Which allows me to write my own music/songs (have done so far 15 songs: 1 english, 2 instrumentals, 12 Spanish) and their lyrics too...
I also draw and paint, which allows me to portrait the scenes/items that I write about to expand on details and give a better image of what I'm describing...
For stories, I have put some in here (Swords Inn short story), others are still on files in my computers (or in my smartphone which I carry everywhere so I can write at every moments notice, which I'm doing with my current story to share here later), others are in papers laying around somewhere (and I'm not lying, I don't know where they are right now), and others are still bouncing or stored in a dark corner of my mind. I have at least, about 5 stories started and waiting for me to go back and finished them. I have about 3 more in my mind, waiting for a moment to write them down. Not to mentioned all the ones that I don’t remember because I forgot them. I just wish I had time to write everything that I have, even if it doesn't get publish. I wish I had the time to write it all down... Thus, my smartphone is the solution for that...
Songs, I have them written down all of them. I have not done the music sheets, but I have the chords/notes written in almost all of them along with the lyrics. I started to test my iPod recording capabilities to record to digital file directly my songs. Once again, time is the factor, along with a good recording place. I can’t find a place quiet enough (with no outside noise) to be able to record my songs. So far testing is going good.
So... there… I shared a little bit of what I do. I will share some of my other writings later…
I'm writting a little bit on my spare time. The tentative title for my novel is Spirit Holder. Its about a teenage boy who learns that he is a Spirit Holder. One of nine people born who has an alter ego that can take control of their body and give them amazing powers. But at the same time a psychotic mad man named Lijden who is trying to gather the Spirit Holders to unlock the gate to the Spirit Plane. The place a person's Spirit resides when it is not being called out. When one of Lijden's henchmen take control of the country J.D is the prince of, J.D sets out on journey with his bodyguard, Jackal and friend, Mimori to try and save the remaning Spirit Holders and stop Lijden. But J.D also has personal psychological problems to overcome if he ever hopes to defeat Lijden and protect the Spirit Holders and the world.
Right now I'm in the process of writing two stories. The first is a war novel set during the Medieval time period. it revolves aroung a soldier who quickly climbs the ranks while gaining friends and fame but losing his innocence. The second is a story about 7 teens who each represent the seven deadly sins. I'm not as far in the latter, but I'm much more passionate about that one.
Well I based it off of the seven sins, Pride, Envy, Wrath, Lust, Gluttony, Sloth, and Greed. I was debating on how to make antagonists and such, but I'm considering making Pride's brother Humility, the virtue for that sin. Then the other six virtues will end up being in the society as well. I was originally trying to think of a way to make the sins superior to average society so I was thinking of doing an elemental thing. As they each realize their strength to the sin they gain power over some element. Pride-thunder, Envy-fire, Wrath-darkness, Lust-water, Gluttony-light, Sloth-earth, Greed-wind. However I have received a lot of criticism on how everything these days involves powers and it's not original.
