The Official Brent Weeks Network

For fans of The Night Angel Trilogy and fantasy author Brent Weeks

to all those gamers out there who love the Night angel trilogy, i have decided to have a go at creating parts of the book using morrowind, for those of you who dont know, morrowind is the third elder scrolls game, although its pretty old i managed to get a copy for around $5 AUS and now im happily modifing the game. to anyone who has any good ideas of what i should build first please reply!!!!

i had ideas for a safehouse of Durzos and Kylars (with them in it)
screaming winds (with regnus, solon and their men although khali might be a bit difficult)
the chantry is out of the question although i could do lakecity
i was even thinking of doing black barrow.
if i do complete one of these places i will post pics here.

Count me in for ideas and keep me posted....

I think that Safehouses should be first. This will give you the "training area" along with development of skills, weapons and items needed. You can also build it around the Warrens. That way you can develop alleys, streets and other houses to interact...

Of course that is just my idea... Let me know whn you need "Testers". I want to be one of them...

I suggest you ask Mr. Weeks for more insights. He might give you a better direction and feedback.

Sounds cool.

Why are you choosing Morrowind and not Oblivion ?

I've written quite a few mods in oblivion .....really fun and powerful modding tools. You could easily do everything you've mentioned here. The challenge will be finding the time to do it properly. Creating models is quite tricky...but do-able.

In fact there is already a night angel mod for Oblivion but it's not as in depth as what you have mentioned here.

Start with something simple. ....like creating retribution. What qualities will you give it?
Creating a mod to mimic wetboy Talent would be fun too. You could use "Chameleon", "fortify sneak", "fortify acrobatics"...and maybe you could mod it to only recharge your magicka in the sun

As far as locations go....the safehouses would be a good start.

It would be fun to create your own "Dark hunter" ...and stick it in a wood somewhere. So many ideas....where to begin.

ok so first of all i just want to clear up a few things, first the reason i am using morrowind instead of oblivion i havnt gotten a copy of it yet and the construction page for oblivion has to be downlo0aded first, only problem is i have a VERY small bandwidth :(
anyway i did a start on a safehouse, and i have almost completly finished, ill put up some picks when im done :D
the only problem is that i cant make any new models and i cant find any free exspansions of morrowind (the tribunal and bloodmoon ones) CURSE YOU BETHESDA!!!!.

although its mostly bad news i do have some good news to= I CAN MAKE THE CHANTRY!!!!! was playing thru morrowind and whadda know a giant statue of a goddess apears who wudda thort? anyway the problem with the giant statue is that its black instead of white but ohwell back to work....

cool ... can't wait to see some screens.

IMO you should try get your hands on Oblivion because it will make your life a lot easier. The Oblivion modding community is quite strong....and the tools are powerful. You could literally remake every mission and every character from the books.

...the morrowind modding is still pretty good though...I'm looking forward to seeing your work.

If you manage to get Durzo and Kylar in there, you could make it so you could apprentice to Kylar, and if you ask Durzo he could pop a garlic clove and be like, "Give me one reason, kid." Anyhow looks great, could you post a link through file planet or something when you finish? It looks awesome. And if you had spare time, how do you create that stuff, using the construction set? It was always to difficult for me. And you can buy the expansions on E-bay for like five bucks.

They look great S.Kage... As for Retribution, I think that you are refering to the sword in the "dojotable" picture, the sword to the far left with green lifes around it...right? It looks dark grey, unless this is your version of black. Not sure there. Still you can distinguish it from the rest being the darkest one. GREAT JOB!

Now, the big sword that in the "top" of the other ones, I have one of those at home real-size. It is an awesome sword. The only thing that I added to mine was a leather band near the neck (where the sword touches the handle to add versatility "when using the sword." It allos for a better grip in case you need to swing the sword with more strength.

Now, go ahead and make a line in front of Mr. Weeks house to collect your check.

Well done. These look great.

Nice attention to detail in the alcemlab picture. It looks like Durzo is doing some poison research there.

Are you going to build any missions / quests to go with it ?

Love the Alchemy Lab! The others are all very wicked too... I just like the attention to detail in it.
