The Official Brent Weeks Network

For fans of The Night Angel Trilogy and fantasy author Brent Weeks

As I know Brent and many others on the forum are gamers, I thought I would bring up some of my favorite video games (xbox360) that really compliment the Night Angel trilogy in my view and that bring to mind the feeling of the books for me:

Assassin's Creed - an obvious one...great game that really captures that assassin feeling in a fully realized world. Can't wait for Assassin's Creed 2 later this year.

Ninja Gaiden 2 - incredible action game -- the closest a game has come to how I imagine Kylar decimating foes....

Tenchu Z - another strong ninja game focusing on stealth and assassination in pursuit of justice.

Anyway, if you are into games and have not checked these out, I would recommend them! (particularly Ninja Gaiden 2)

Any others?

Thief Deadly shadows is an excelent game,as old as it is its stealth is realistic, whils climbing over guards heads and dropping mines isnt exactly assassin worthy still alot of fun, and NA kinda resembles it in the fighting area

I've been following an Indie developer called Iron Tower Studio for several years now. They are creating an old school turn-based cRPG game called Age of Decadence. The combat demo is due to be released Thursday. And hopefully the shareware portion of the game will be released on another Thursday... later this year. (inside joke, not factual)

Anyway as far as the story elements go AoD seems to have it all and then some. While reading The Way of Shadows I kept remembering forum threads and discussions concerning the assassin play through featured as a Let's Play AoD thread. The game was designed from the start to make choices and consequences meaningful. If you're interested here's their URL: http://www.irontowerstudio.com/

Oh, and if anyone has read anything else similar to The Night Angel Trilogy, please, let me know. I've rediscovered just how great the fantasy genre can be. Thanks to Brent Weeks and Karen Miller (a.k.a. K.E. Mills).

The Thief series would be another obvious one.

Personally, I second the whole Oblivion thing. That game SCREAMS "Night Angel Trilogy' to me. Especially if you're apart of the Dark Brotherhood. Dark Brotherhood = Sa'kage. The Black Hand = the Nine? Maybe? Except it has four less members. :P And now that people mentioned it, Lucien DOES kind of remind me of Durzo, except without the garlic breath.

A NA game would be beyond epic. Especially a MUD - choosing whatever class you'd be in, what race you are etc. etc. I want to get jumped by some Guild Rats when going around the Warrens. :D And think about it - wouldn't it be exciting to get killed by a player wetboy in the MUD?

Would you like to get killed like that?

I would say Mount & Blade. It's a very good game where you control the leader of an army on th ebattlefield, so theres swordfights, cavalry charges, archers and all that. With a bit of modding you could change all the kingdoms in it to Ceurans, Sethi etc. It wouldn't be suited to the stealth side, but more the battles. And you can get 1 on 1 duels to defend the honor of a lady. Great fun all round, and a Night Angel mod would be epic.
