The Official Brent Weeks Network

For fans of The Night Angel Trilogy and fantasy author Brent Weeks

As I know Brent and many others on the forum are gamers, I thought I would bring up some of my favorite video games (xbox360) that really compliment the Night Angel trilogy in my view and that bring to mind the feeling of the books for me:

Assassin's Creed - an obvious one...great game that really captures that assassin feeling in a fully realized world. Can't wait for Assassin's Creed 2 later this year.

Ninja Gaiden 2 - incredible action game -- the closest a game has come to how I imagine Kylar decimating foes....

Tenchu Z - another strong ninja game focusing on stealth and assassination in pursuit of justice.

Anyway, if you are into games and have not checked these out, I would recommend them! (particularly Ninja Gaiden 2)

Any others?

A Video Game... hmmmm... Maybe we should start as a MUD game... All text based... Old school type with no graphics at all.... hahahaha. However, maybe you could consider PS3 console also.

Hey, I know, how about a CG Movie on BD... now that would rock! You won't need to worry about casting actors appereance, CG can fit eveyones....

Oh... and Archangel, let me sharpen, clean and polish your knife of death before and after you are done.

Naz-Mero sits on a table with a sharpening stone, cleaning tools and polishing supplies.

Anyone else needs my services?

:D

Lol very clever. If anyone were talented enough to actually make a CG movie close enough to Mr. Weeks' descriptions, no matter what the length it would be an extreme treasure for our eyes and I'm sure a huge hit here at the site.

Thanks Sean... I still think it is a great idea...

Are you seriously considering looking into it?

Me personally think is a great idea... However, I don't have the tools of the time to do it. However, if someone could that would be great!

take it to Bioware, or Ubisoft, have it free roaming, and for the pc...pretty please...

The Thief games were fantastic.

Thief 2 (the metal age) was the best although the graphics will look a little dated now. Still, if you enjoyed these books you'll enjoy Thief.

It had a very similar "flavor" to the night angel trilogy. Except, of course, you played a thief not an assassin ( you could still kill people though)

You used all sorts of tools to accomplish your mission. Water arrows to extinguish torches, "noise maker" arrows to cause a distraction, climbing gloves, a robotic eye, gas mines....it was great.

That sounds like a cool game. I've never heard of it though, what console was it for?

This may sound strange, but Oblivion (Xbox 360, ps3, PC) lends itself quite well to the Night Angel Trilogy, stealthy class, assassin. You can get a (safe)house in almost every city, carry numerous pointy things, use alchemy to create poisons... magic to make yourself invisible... plus the world has (almost) as much depth as Midcyru.

All in all, if you play Oblivion whilst squinting and reading Brent's books you might think your playing as Kylar ^_^

My class I use in Oblivion I actually called "Night Angel".

what are the skills, birthsign etc.

Me too. Actually mine is called Wetboy because I made it before I finished the first book. You get a sword in Shivering Isles, Shadowrend, that reminded me of retribution.
