Alright, to finish up with stats, we have the innate or non-trainable stats.
As a reminder, the innate stats are intelligence (int), wisdom (wis) and charisma (cha). To make it easier I figure making the stat equal to the bonus will be easier instead of the divide by four business. I figure that the max of 5 or 10 would work well here as well, and you'll see why when I bring up the talent. Remember you can't train these, so a high base stat will only help eventual gameplay.
Anyway, Intelligence will dictate your skills of "things you know", or possibly how fast you can learn some things. I'm not sure how far to push intelligence. But I figure having an intelligence score too low will automatically give you the simpleton title, which will greatly hinder your ability to comprehend and think for yourself. You'll basically need someone to tell you what to do.
Wisdom will dictate things like how to act at certain times, or where to look for something. Too low a wisdom stat and you automatically get some title, I'm not sure which yet. Let the ideas flow.
Charisma will dictate skills such as oration or your ability to lead. Having too low a charisma score might leave you speechless and/or unbearably ugly and unable to lead a pissup at a brewery. Also, I need input as to what too low a charisma score might do.
As for talent. At the start of the game you'll have a max talent score. It can range from 0 (those with no talent whatsoever) to 100 (100 being somewhere that I doubt even Ezra achieved. Maybe Kylar after getting the ka'kari). But that's just the max potential, you'll have to train to get there first. Current talent score will be calculated by childhood events, and can be increased in game by training with a magi (or someone who can control their talent) up to the point where your current talent equals theirs. After a certain amount of talent and a bit of intelligence I'm sure you can train yourself. (also to be figured out.)
Now, how to calculate the max talent is another matter altogether. I figure that those that wish to have any talent will forgo one of their innate stat points to increase the max talent by 15, and the final point to take yourself to 100 will leave you with only 1 stat point for innate stats. (Mind you if you train your talent up high enough you can use the talent to boost the stat, we'll figure that out later.)
As for my basic understanding of what the vir does, the current vir is either equal to current talent or max talent, should you submit to khali anyway. I'll definitely need input on the vir.
