Kylar's life seems to resonate through the controversial saying that "one must be cruel to be kind", in my humble opinion. He is not an evil man, nor is he disillusioning anyone except himself. I know, it sounds like this is the only thing I took away from the book. I had just come to the realization that she had gotten away at the same time I was online so I posted a thread, and it's taken off from there. A lot of people didn't remember her but I was re-reading the series at the time so it was fresh in my head. She was evil, but it wasn't the only unresolved issue from the series. We'll just have to patiently twiddle our thumbs for 5 years until the next book explains it.
