Hector rejoices as the ships clash together, his heart singing with joy at the swell of the ocean and the sway of the ship beneath his feet.
He roars the tension from his body as he senses the albino to his left and the cold-eyed swordsman to his right, gripping his knife and a boarding axe loosely.
With sure feet he remains standing as the ships lurch about each other, moving just ahead of the men who flank him as he vaults the small gap between the ships and charges the enemy before they can surge over the space between the ships.
Hector lands steady on his feet, axe lashing into a throat even as his knees absorb the shock of the landing, and his knife warding away a sword thrust. With a grin he launches himself into the gap he has formed, knife leading the way into another man’s throat as his axe fends off a spear strike but an inch from his own throat.
Sounding out a bestial roar he spins his axe out and under, taking the spearhead with it as his right hand comes over and plunges his knife into a chest before ripping free to bury up to the hilt in another man’s stomach. He grins in the face of the two men who come at him swords cocked and ready, the boarding axe flashing forward to take one in the forehead as it flies from his grip. Setting his feet he greets the charge of his remaining foe, knife poised and ready.
As he takes a step to defend a swipe Hector stands upon a pool of blood, only just remaining upright as his knife is knocked aside and a sword slices into his shoulder.
With a growl Hector pulls away, falling to his back to remove the blade from the shallow wound in his shoulder. His would be killer approaches with a grin, never seeing the knife that is thrown and take him in the throat even as Hector attempts to stand, a dull ache beginning in his shoulder.
Another growl escapes Hector as he rises to his feet, his left hand pulling at the knife thoroughly embedded in the dead man’s throat and never seeing the sword blade that arcs for his neck as he bends prone over the dead body.
