Wraith crosses the gap with ease, a pair of single bladed hatchets in his hands, his greatsword strapped to his back and the leather and iron kilt he wears jangling faintly as he lands. His upper body is free of armour, displaying scars both fresh and old and broken only by the strap of the scabbard for his sword.
Instinctively the men back away from his, registering the shock of his pale skin and being almost hypnotised until his axes cross and the head flies from one man in a blood spray.
Wraith bounds forward, rushing heedlessly into a knot of men as the ready their weapons. His axes reap a terrible toll, taking limbs and heads with blows of awesome power. One sailor comes too close, an axe lodging in his head as Wraith releases the haft gripping the other with both hands.
Deflecting a sword strike with the bracer he wears Wraith beheads a man, taking a leg from another and an arm from a third. Backing off a step from a pair of axe armed sailors, Wraith catches sight of Hector, a man poised to take his head.
With a grunt Wraith launches his axe, not stopping to watch as flies, instantly charging forwards. His fist flies, crushing the windpipe of one man as he catches the haft of an axe and with easy strength rips it free and buries it into the neck its former owner.
With a flourish he draws the greatsword at his back, the weapon light and yet powerful in his fist as he once again steps to the attack.
With an almost tangible air of disdain he bats aside a lazy swing, his own blade cutting its stroke short to reverse and carve a deadly arc across the chest and then darting to the left to parry a hasty thrust. Spinning with his sword leading, he carves halfway through the waist of one man, freeing the blade with an agonising sawing motion, before plunging the blade through the screaming man’s throat.
He pauses in his efforts only as he hears he name shouted, drifting from the upper deck of his own vessel.
“Wraith!” he hears for the second time, breaking into action as he sprints for the gap between the ships once more.
