Faster and faster he ran but the hounds kept getting closer. Their warm saliva and hot breath he could feel every time they nipped at him. He tried to run as fast as he could but all he could think about was his mother saying,"You have so much energy you could outrun the secret scouts of the king" If he wasn't running for his life right now he might laugh at the irony but right now all he could do was let out a smirk. The pain in his leg yanked him back to reality. he could feel the blood flowing down his leg. he looked back just as the assailant stumbled and smashed into a tree, he didn't get up. His glance back revealed the other two hounds were in a blood frenzy. The enraged couple picked up their pace and closed the gap. Some how either by the grace of Mindea or some other divine watcher he found the drive to start running faster. His feet felt like the herald himself answered his prayers. He felt everything become a blur and then suddenly stop. The ground was cold and moist. The soft soil reminded him of his bed. His eyes started to drift off. He saw the beams of light pierce through the canopy of the forest. His heart slowed down and he could see the grass growing. The green of the forest deepened and the colors became more vibrant. He began to feel sleepy and almost began to accept his fate. He thought to himself this would be a beautiful place to make his eternal rest.
