For fans of The Night Angel Trilogy and fantasy author Brent Weeks

Anyone else notice the use of the color white in the trilogy? The spider on Azoth's leg in the beginning of Way of Shadows was white, as was the snake and the poison Kylar used to kill Durzo. Garoth Ursuul's wardrobe was white, as was the ermine cloak Dorian dropped when he first notices the Strangers among his army in the last book. Solon's hair turned white after using Curoch, and Vi aquires a streak of white hair after Khali is defeated. When Elene's body was taken over by Khali, the dress she was wearing was white. White, white white everywhere. any thoughts on the symbolism?

Well, he might be taking a page out of L. E. Modesitt's book. In the Saga of recluse white is seen as evil because white light is every color of the rainbow combined, symbolizing corruption and so forth. On the other hand, black is seen as good, because it symbolizes the absence of evil and corruption and whatnot.

I hadn't noticed, but you're absolutely right. I've been an avid reader for many years, but only for the story.
I've never looked for deeper meanings, but since visiting forums recently it seems i'm missing out by not reading between the lines.

I actually picked up the first book because the cover was mostly white, which kinda caught me off guard. Most books tend to be darker. As far as symbolism, maybe its to show that "White" isn't the color of good but simply a color, I mean most of the time when most people think of good they think of light, which would be yellow or white, where as when they think of evil the think either black or red, black because its unknow. I mean Kylar is a shadow, which would be black, and he's the "good" character I think (can't be sure since good and evil are based on perception). Or maybe its just a favorite color? o.O
