These unknown assailents killed his father,and took his mother and 2 sisters hostage. A man contacted Constantine and told him he could get his family back if he served him without question. Constantine rebeled at first but eventually he slipped under the mans grip. This man had the power to control constantines mind after a while.

So, all in all Constantine serves his master without question, in hopes that he can win his family back.
